The Morning Routine – Zombie-Spit #2

Ah the joys of starting a new project.  The frustration, the exploration, the realization that you’re not nearly as prepared as you might like.

Page 2 sticks with the silent comic approach. Once again I decided to end on onomatopoeia. I really enjoy comic sound effects I guess.

I’m absolutely unsure about the art direction in this one.  I’ve opted for the somewhat realistic hands and body posture for now, but I have a feeling I’m going to trend towards a slightly more stylistic approach in the future. We’ll see how things go over the course of the next few pages.

  1. Damn, I HATE it when someone puts a bullet through my morning coffee! It’s never a good start to the day.
Looking very goood, Jim. Minor comment on continuity – what happened to the shoulder rig in Panel 5? And in Panel 3 we see 4 shell pockets, but in Panel 4 there are 5. Just nitpicking, I know, but…
Looks like a mighty big calibre gun too – should be interesting to see it in action!

  2. Thanks Doug!

As far as the continuity issue – you got me there Doug. I caught that issue after I’d posted it. I probably won’t fix it, but I’ll remember to put five shells there in the future.

  3. Thanks MJ! I’m still tweaking the look, and I’m very excited about some of the things I’ve got planned for this one.
